Land SupportOfficer


The Land Support Officer will support the Land Support team in ensuring that key weekly and monthly tasks and projects are completed on time and to budget.

 

MAIN ROLES

 

  • Main responsibility to ensure that the grounds, zones and landscapes are maintained to a professional standard and developed according to projects and tasks.
  • Maintaining the main areas, walkways, thoroughfares, neutral zones, open spaces and woodland.
  • Tidying and weeding zones and planters to a schedule.
  • Ensure regular pruning and lopping schedules are maintained
  • Planting and landscaping set to tasks and projects.
  • Grass cutting and strimming all zones to a schedule.
  • Main responsibility to maintain vegetable and herb zones in student and service user areas.
  • Managing new plant and seeding schedules.
  • Maintain and planting new hedges, dead hedges and young trees.
  • Ensure the gardens and grounds are watered in times of hot weather or lack of rain.
  • Regular weed killing of key areas to a schedule.
  • Help maintain the river, river bank and pooling areas.

 

SUPPORTING ROLES

 

Team Responsibilities for the following areas of the Land Support Team:

  • Support and cover for the Animal Care and Land Trainee when required when maintaining animal enclosures and pasture grazing.
  • Supporting projects and tasks within the team, including building projects.
  • Supporting projects and developments within the team.
  • Help design, develop and improve zones as part of the Land Team.
